  • From the Chronicle of Donetsk Secondary School

In the fall of 1936, the special settlers decided at a meeting to open a four-year school. Already in the following year, 1937, it was expanded to a seven-year school. The first principal was V.N. Kokhanyuk. The teachers at that time included N.G. Vilgin, Savelyev, Ivanova, and Proskura Sergeevna (last name could not be determined). Alongside this school, there was a German school where teachers Weineburg and Iterman taught. Classes were held in two shifts. Classrooms were overcrowded, heated with straw, illuminated by kerosene lamps, and desks and benches were made of wooden planks. Textbooks and writing supplies were in short supply. Many students missed classes as winters were harsh and snowy, and children lacked warm clothing and footwear.

From 1939–1940, the school was converted into a ten-year school. Until 1945, it remained a ten-year school. However, in 1945, it was reverted to a seven-year school due to the impact of the difficult war years. The number of students significantly decreased because most high school students could not continue their studies; they had to earn a living.

During this period, the school was led by Misyurin, Smirnova, and N.I. Belova. From 1945 to 1947, Grigory Samoylovich Kogan served as principal. Teachers often changed as well; some left for the front, while others evacuated from Ukraine, Leningrad, and other areas worked at the Donetsk school.

In 1948, Kazimir Andreyevich Vovrzhenchik, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, became the school’s principal. The number of students gradually increased, and the old school building no longer met the requirements. In 1949, it was decided to build a new school. In 1950, a new adobe school building with stove heating (using straw) was constructed within a year. Since 1955, the Donetsk school has been a secondary school.

In July 1959, the school was headed by V.S. Paremsky, who held this position for only one year. Since then, the school was headed by Stanislav Frantsevich Yakusevich.

With his direct involvement, a 320-seat school was built in 1961, which continues to operate to this day. At that time, the collective farm was headed by S.M. Mukanov, a former teacher at our school.

From 1988 to 1994, the school was led by Felix Frantsevich Kotvitsky, who was honored as an "Exemplary Educator of the USSR.

From 1994 to 2015, the school was led by Vladislav Ivanovich Garbovsky, who had been working at our school since 1972.

Currently, the director is I.L. Lazarenko.
